MRC Jr. UIL Study Materials' test writers are certified Texas teachers and/or former participants in UIL academics.
Tom Pennington writes the Maps, Graphs, & Charts test and assists in writing the Social Studies tests. He is composite social studies certified and taught social studies at various levels in Texas for ten years. He coached the state qualifying Current Issues and Events team and previously wrote the UIL high school social studies tests for MRC Enterprises.
Jamie Pennington was an elementary school teacher and has taught 1st –4th grades. Jamie writes the dictionary skills tests, social studies tests, and worked closely with jr. high/ elementary division of UIL in the development of social studies contest, and was employed by UIL as a test writer for the 7th/8th grade social studies test.
